Augustus Waters

Hay gente que cree que los adolescentes somos un caso perdido; todo el día enganchados a los "aparatejos", dejando de lado los estudios, contestando a nuestros padres, saliendo con amigos a emborracharnos hasta quedarnos en coma...

A esa clase de gente va dirigido esto. No todos los adolescentes estamos perdidos en el mundo de la perversión (vale, algunos sí pero ese, si queréis, será el tema de otra entrada). Hay adolescentes que aman con todo su corazón la cultura. Hay adolescentes que de verdad les gusta leer y de eso quiero hablar.

Hay un hombre que, en mi opinión, ha empezado una revolución y su nombre es John Green.

Querido John Green;

¿es que no ves lo que has causado? Gente que ni se le pasaba por la cabeza tocar un libro, ha acabado enganchada a tus libros. Gente de todo el mundo unida con una cosa en común: tus libros. Todo eso es precioso, pero creo que hay algo mejor que se le podría sacar: Una revolución silenciosa. ¿Qué pasaría si un día jóvenes de todo el mundo fueran por la calle con un cigarrillo sin encender? "¿Quieres fuego?" preguntaría la gente. "Oh, no, gracias. Es una metáfora. Te pones el arma asesina entre los dientes pero no le das el poder de matarte. En honor de Augustus Waters." 

Por favor, John Green, te pido que organices el Día Internacional de Augustus Waters en honor a la gran persona que fue y lo mucho que ha significado para nosotros. Además, no crees que sería increíble escuchar en las noticias: Última hora; adolescentes de todo el mundo siguen con su día a día pero con un cigarrillo apagado colgando de la boca en honor al Día Internacional de Augustus Waters.

Some people believe that teenagers are hopeless; all day hooked on "gizmos", neglecting studies, replicating our parents, going out with friends to get drunk...

To this type of people is addressed this post. Not all teenagers are lost in the world of perversion (okay, some do but that, if you wish, will be the subject of another post). There are teenagers who love with all their heart culture. There are teens who really like to read and this is about what I want to talk.

There is a man who, in my opinion, has started a revolution and his name is John Green.

Dear John Green;

Don't you see what you've done? People who neither was going through her head touching a book, ended hooked on your books. People all over the world united with one thing in common: your books. All that is beautiful, but I think there is something better that we could do: An act of recall. What if one day youth worldwide were down the street with an unlit cigarette? "Need a light?" people ask. "Oh, no thanks. It's a metaphor.You put the killing thing right between your teeth but do not give it the power to kill you. In Augustus Waters' honor."

Please, John Green, I ask you to organize Augustus Waters International Day in honor of the great person he was and how much it has meant to us. Also, don't you think it would be amazing to hear in the news: Last minute; teenagers around the world continue with their day to day but with an unlit cigarette dangling from her/his mouth in honor of Augustus Waters International Day.
